Situk Airport is a small general aviation airstrip located near Yakutat in southeastern Alaska. It serves as an access point to the Situk River area, which is renowned for its exceptional sport fishing, particularly for steelhead, sockeye salmon, and other Pacific salmon species. The airport is a basic facility with a single unpaved or gravel runway, primarily used by small charter and bush aircraft to transport anglers and hunters to the remote wilderness surrounding the Situk River. It is not served by commercial airlines and has no terminal infrastructure to speak of. Given its remote location in the Tongass National Forest region, the airstrip plays an important role in providing access to one of Alaska's most productive fishing rivers, which would otherwise be difficult to reach overland.
