Tanis Mesa Airport is a small general aviation facility located near Yakutat, Alaska, in the United States. It serves as a local airstrip supporting private and recreational flying in one of Alaska's most remote coastal regions. The airport operates in a challenging environment characterized by rugged terrain, frequent coastal weather, and limited infrastructure typical of rural Alaskan airstrips. It is distinct from the primary Yakutat Airport (YAK), which handles commercial traffic in the area. Given its remote location and general aviation designation, Tanis Mesa Airport does not support scheduled commercial airline service and is primarily used by small private and bush aircraft.
