Arad International Airport is a small regional airport serving the city of Arad in western Romania, close to the Hungarian border. With roots dating back to the early aviation era, it has long served as a crossing point between Central Europe and Romania. Today it handles limited scheduled and charter traffic, primarily connecting the region to seasonal and low-cost destinations across Europe.
- Main Terminal — A single compact terminal building handling both departures and arrivals with basic passenger amenities.
- Taxi services available at the terminal forecourt
- Pre-booked private transfer to Arad city centre
- Car rental desks available inside the terminal
- Local bus connections to Arad city (limited frequency)
- Hotel Arad
- Best Western Plus Central Hotel Arad
- Hotel Petrom Arad
- Parc Hotel Arad
Food and beverage options inside the terminal are minimal, with a small café offering snacks, sandwiches, and hot drinks. Travellers are advised to explore Arad city centre before departure, where a wider range of Romanian and international restaurants is available. The city's central market area is particularly noted for local cuisine.
- Arrive well ahead of departure as the terminal is small but security queues can build quickly during peak charter periods.
- Pre-book taxis or transfers in advance, as on-demand cabs at the airport can be scarce during off-peak hours.
- Currency exchange facilities are limited at the airport; exchange money in Arad city centre for better rates.
- Check flight schedules carefully as the airport operates seasonal routes that may change significantly outside summer months.
