F. D. Roosevelt Airport serves Oranjestad, the capital of Sint Eustatius, a small Dutch Caribbean island in the northeastern Caribbean Sea. Named after U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the airport reflects the island's deep historical ties to American and Dutch heritage. It functions as the sole air gateway to this quiet, volcanic island known as 'The Golden Rock,' handling primarily inter-island regional traffic.
- Main Terminal — A single compact terminal building handling arrivals, departures, and basic passenger services for this small island airport.
- Taxi services available outside the terminal
- Car rental agencies serving the island
- Private hotel transfers arranged in advance
- Golden Era Hotel
- Kings Well Resort
- Old Gin House
Dining options within the terminal itself are very limited given the airport's small scale. Oranjestad town, a short taxi ride away, offers local Caribbean restaurants and small eateries serving fresh seafood and Dutch-influenced cuisine. Visitors are advised to dine in town rather than rely on airport facilities.
- Confirm your onward flight with Winair or other regional carriers well in advance as schedules can change.
- The island is very small — a rental car or taxi is sufficient for getting around during your stay.
- Carry local cash as card payment acceptance is limited at smaller establishments on the island.
- Passport and travel documents must be in order as Sint Eustatius is a special municipality of the Netherlands.
