New Gwadar International Airport, opened in 2019 and developed with Chinese assistance under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative, serves the strategically vital port city of Gwadar in Balochistan province. The modern facility replaced the older Gwadar Airport and is designed to handle significantly increased passenger and cargo traffic as Gwadar develops into a major regional trade hub. Its location near the Arabian Sea and proximity to the deep-sea Gwadar Port make it a critical node in Pakistan's economic ambitions.
- Main Terminal — A single modern terminal building handling all domestic and limited international departures with basic passenger amenities.
- Taxis and ride-hailing services available outside the terminal
- Private car hire arranged through local operators and hotels
- Minibuses and local wagons connecting to Gwadar city centre
- Pearl Continental Hotel Gwadar
- CPEC Hotel Gwadar
- Zarco Inn Gwadar
- Bloom Star Hotel Gwadar
Dining options inside the terminal are limited to basic refreshment counters offering Pakistani staples and beverages. The nearby city of Gwadar offers fresh seafood restaurants along the waterfront, reflecting the local coastal culture. Visitors are advised to explore dining options in town rather than relying heavily on in-terminal facilities.
- Carry local Pakistani rupees as ATM availability near the airport is limited.
- Arrange hotel transfers in advance as on-demand transport outside the terminal can be scarce.
- Gwadar experiences extreme heat in summer months — stay hydrated and dress accordingly.
- Foreigners may require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to visit Gwadar; verify requirements before travel.
