Portland Hillsboro Airport (HIO/KHIO) is a public general aviation airport located in Hillsboro, Oregon, approximately 15 miles west of downtown Portland. It is owned and operated by the Port of Portland and serves as one of the busiest general aviation airports in the Pacific Northwest. The airport primarily serves private, corporate, and charter aviation, as well as flight training operations. It acts as a reliever airport for Portland International Airport (PDX), helping to divert smaller aircraft traffic away from the major commercial hub. Hillsboro Airport is home to numerous aviation businesses, flight schools, and fixed-base operators (FBOs). The surrounding Hillsboro area, part of Oregon's Silicon Forest technology corridor, generates significant corporate aviation activity.
