Gustavo Vargas Airport (IATA: TME, ICAO: SKTM) serves the city of Tame in the Arauca department of eastern Colombia. It is a small regional airport that provides essential air connectivity to a remote area where road travel is limited and sometimes dangerous. The airport is named after Gustavo Vargas, a notable Colombian military and political figure. It primarily handles domestic routes connecting Tame to larger Colombian cities, supporting local communities, government operations, and the oil industry active in the region. Due to its location in a historically conflict-affected region near the Venezuelan border, the airport has strategic importance for both civilian and government transport. Flight frequencies are modest, reflecting the small population of Tame.
